The Whydah Galley is a real pirate ship that, on its maiden voyage, was attacked by a crew of pirates. Their captain, ‘Black Sam’ Bellamy, saved the vessel as his flagship, and it sailed on until 1717, when it sank on the Cape Cod‘s treacherous shores taking the pirates with it. This model is minifigure-scaled and presents a romanticized version of the pirate life on a real pirate ship.
